PARENT'S RESOURCES

  • Parents are asked to keep me informed of any change in addresses, telephone numbers, and other pertinent information.
  • Parents are asked to text me by 8:00 a.m. if their child will not be coming for the day.
  • Parents are encouraged to text me at any time during the day or evening.
  • Both the parent and I will initial any additions/changes made to this.
  • During my vacation or if I become ill you will be expected to find your own backup care.

All necessary forms must be completed and returned to me before I will assume responsibility of caring for your child.

If a child or parent is ill, or for any other reason the child will not be here for the day, please call or text me in the morning to let me know. If you know the night before please call or text before 9:00 p.m. I would appreciate this courtesy. Parents should have alternative arrangements available in the event of emergency, illness, vacation or such, if the situation should occur. If you are having someone else pick up your child, please let me know in advance (in writing or name needs to be on file). I will need to know the name of the person picking up your child and please let them know I will be asking for some form of I.D. I will not let a child leave without the parent’s permission. Also see “ILLNESS AND SICK CARE.”

Attendance
In general, we are requiring that children and staff stay home from school for 14 days following the last potential exposure, if any member of the household has (or may have) a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19. In addition:

  • We observe the children’s health throughout the day and respond appropriately as needed if we detect any potential signs of illness.
  • If your child does become ill at school, we will call you immediately so they can be picked up as soon as possible. Should that occur, please be sure to pick up your child promptly for their well-being, and to help us limit the spread of illness

Overall, the best way to ensure our students have limited exposure to germs is by keeping children at home when they are ill and/or contagious. We ask that you please watch your child closely and contact your physician if your child appears to be feeling under the weather. Please remember your child must be kept home if they display any signs of illness until they are free of symptoms for 24 hours or have a physician’s approval for them to reenter a child care setting.

When picking up your child, it is very important that they do not leave the daycare premises without you accompanying them.  This is for the protection of your child, your property, daycare property and the property of my neighbors. 

Please identify on the child care registration form, the names of those who are authorized to pick up your child.  Wevwill not release your child to any person without your written permission or a confirmed telephone call in the case of an emergency.  The person picking up your child must have identification.

When dropping off and taking your child home, the child must be in a car seat (age appropriate). If a parent or an authorize person seem to be intoxicated, I will not allow that person to take the child home for the child’s sake. Another family member or authorized person you indicated on your “Identification and Emergency Information” form will be called. They must have a car seat available. No one will be allowed to pick up a child that I have not met yet. If in an emergency, the parent must call me and tell me what the password is and the name of the person picking up the
child in order for me to release the child to that person. I must have a signature on file. 

Please do not double park. In order for the family child care home to coexist with its neighbors, please park legally and respect good relations with our neighbors. Also, be aware of your vehicle. Even if your drops off time only takes five minutes or less, DO NOT leave engine running or keys in the vehicle, as this is an easy target for car theft.

Please remember there are times we have places to go or appointments that we have to meet at the end of the day. For this reason, please don’t be late. I do have a family and my time with them is very precious to me. Daycare hours END at 5:45 p.m. Please come in and go out as quickly as possible to eliminate any over-excitement of the children.

My philosophy is that you use discipline to teach a child. I achieve this through love, consistency and firmness. I
stress two main patterns of behavior: respect for other people and respect for property. The children are explained the
rules of the child care home frequently, so they are all familiar with the guidelines.
Please keep in mind that there WILL be disagreements between children. Young children, especially, who are not
adept at communication, have a hard time expressing their feelings. Sometimes they hit or throw toys, etc. Although
teaching children appropriate behavior is what I will be doing, remember that this behavior is normal in most cases.
The following methods of discipline will be used:

  • Encourage children to solve problems themselves.
  • Intervention and discussion.
  • Re-direction to another play area.
  • Loss of privileges.
  • “Quiet Area” (as a last resort)

I personally do not believe in “Time-Out’s.” I prefer to use a “Quiet Area” instead. When a child persistently misbehaves and no other appropriate discipline methods seem to work, I remove the child temporarily from the other children and place them in the “Quite Area.” Here, they have the options of activities to do alone until behavior improves, such as reading a book. Your child will never stay in the “Quiet Area” for a period of time long than their age; i.e. 2 years old = 2 minutes.

If I feel there is a chronic behavioral issue that needs attention, I will let you know, so that you and I are handling it in the same way and your child has continuity in discipline between our homes. These types of behavior might include such things as biting, use of bad words, chronic hitting, etc. Together, we will try to find a solution. You might be called to remove your child if his/her behavior prevents me from being able to properly care for the other children. If problem continues, other arrangements for the care of the child will have to be made, for the safety and well being of all.

Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES will there be any spanking, physical abuse, verbal abuse, name calling or isolation used. Neither food nor sleep will ever be withheld from children as a means of punishment.

As a daycare provider, I have a responsibility by law to recognize and report any evidence of child abuse–physical or
emotional–or neglect. This is strictly for the benefit of your child

Deposit: Before your child is admitted into daycare, or to hold a future spot, a security deposit must be paid. A deposit of $200.00 is required to be paid upon enrollment. This deposit will be credited towards the last payment when you decide to depart from Peaches’ Happy Preschool and Daycare or forfeited if the child does not come for care as agreed. If you request to reserve your spot for a later date, an additional 25% of the weekly rate for each week reserved. You will be guaranteed up to 30 days for your spot. After that, it will be first come first serve and your additional fee will be returned to you plus only one week of the deposit. Checks are made payable to: Kelly delos Santos

Tuition: Tuition is to be paid automatically (monthly or bi-weekly) using KidKare setup or Venmo. The provider will set this up for you and you will receive instructions via email to authorize the payment setup. Once the automatic payment is setup, and should there be insufficient fund, a late fee of $5.00 per day will be charged for payment not received. When fees are not current, children will not be admitted. The tuition is based on your contracted hours signed up for. You must stick to your assigned time slot. If you go over your scheduled contracted time, you will be charged a late fee of $1.00 per minute late. Please note: if you need to change your scheduled contracted time, please notify the provider at least two weeks in advance. You must pay whether your child is in attendance or not. Daycare fees will automatically increase effective September 1 st of each year. You will receive a 30-day notice before increase occurs. A year-end statement of all childcare fees paid during the past year will be given to you in January of the next year for tax purposes and you will be given an EIN number if needed. You may request a statement at any time.

At Peaches Happy Preschool and Daycare, your tuition includes:

  • Educational programming
  • Nutritious meals and snacks
  • Diapers and wipes

Vacation: The provider is entitled to ten (10) days of paid vacation each year for which the parent will still be required to pay their regular monthly rate. If the parent goes on vacation, you will still pay the regular tuition for your child. Vacation time from provider is listed on the “Holiday Schedule” sheet at the beginning of each year and posted on the bulletin board. If any changes, the provider will provide a minimum of two-weeks notice.

Others: Late Pickup: $1.00 per minute late (without prior notification)
Returned check fee: $25.00 (After two returned checks, you must pay in cash or provide a money order.)

I shall be paid for the following days per calendar year if needed. I will be unavailable to watch your child on these days:
Professional Development Days: two (2) days per calendar year
Sick/emergency: up to five (5) days per calendar year
Funeral Leave: up to three (3) days per calendar year

Tax Savings Opportunities and Incentives
Congress has legislated certain tax credits and savings incentives focused on relieving the cost of
child care for eligible taxpayers that may provide additional savings for you.

  • The Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit is a federal tax credit available for eligible taxpayers to assist in reducing your year-end tax liability.
  • A Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) may be provided by your employer to allow you to set aside pre-tax dollars for child care costs.
  •  Various states provide additional incentives for qualified taxpayers.
  • Each person’s income and tax situation is unique, so you should consult with your tax advisor to determine eligibility and savings opportunities.
